Chevy Metal is obviously going to slay

Way back in 1996 we played a festival in Holland called Pinkpop that had a pretty crazy lineup. The Fuggees, Dave Matthews Band, Radiohead, Rage Against the Machine, Rancid, and our little band, Pennywise. Alanis Morrisette was blowing up at that time with her album Jagged Little Pill and so we watched her set from the side of the stage. Although she put on a great show, I couldn’t help but think, “Damn her drummer is Insane!” Looked like he was straight out of a 70s surf mag and he beat the skins like nobody’s business. Fast forward however many years and that dude became one of the best loved and most talented drummers of all time, Taylor Hawkins of the Foo Fighters. (I obviously have an amazing eye for talent so If any of you record labels are interested talk to my agent. ; ) Taylor has put out some great music of his own with Taylor Hawkins and the Coattail Riders, and his cover band side project Chevy Metal where gets to indulge his hard rock influences. I know from experience having a cover band is ridiculously fun to partake in and Taylor’s is the best one going right now. So Chevy Metal is playing the BeachLife festival and if that isn’t enough he told us a little secret: that they will be focusing mainly on Van Halen covers. Stop it right now T-Hawk! Van Halen covers?!? Chevy Metal is obviously going to slay at BeachLife fest so make sure you’re there to check out their set.
